Stormy Sea

Friendly Sea
The fog rolled in. The fog horns mourned. The seagulls perched and braved the storm.
Tahoo! Tahoo!
The waves crashed, and the captain’s fishing boat washed out to sea.
Splash! Splash!

“Coho, my friend!” The captain called to her dog on shore. “I think I hear a sea serpent.”
Ta hoo! Tahoo!
“Or is it just a fog horn I hear?”
“Ruff!” barked Coho, because he was a dog and not a salmon.

The sky cleared and the fog lifted and all but disappeared.
Tahoo!
The sea grew calm.
Splash!
Sunlight shimmered on the water.

“Coho my friend!” The captain called as she searched the waters through a telescope.
“I think I see a sea serpent. “A friendly dragon splashing the water as if to say, come splash with me!”
Splash! Splash!
Or is it just the shimmering waves that I see?”
“Ruff!” barked Coho, because he was a dog and not a salmon.

“Coho my friend! I’ll look again. Maybe its a rock and the sun is shining it. I can’t really tell through my telescope, but I think it’s just a rock, and so, I’m disappointed.”
Splash!
“But wait! Coho what does it really matter? The storm has passed, and I have landed, and it’s a friendly lapping sea that says come play with me along the sandy beach!”
“Ruff!” barked Coho because he was a dog and not a salmon.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

Giving thanks for everything living! And for all creatures great and small!
Psalms 148
Praise ye the Lord, Praise ye the Lord from the heavens: praise him in the heights.
Praise ye him, all his angels: praise ye him, all his hosts.
Praise ye him, sun and moon: praise him, all ye stars of light.
Praise him, ye heavens of heavens, and ye waters that be above the heavens.
Let them praise the name of the Lord: for he commanded, and they were created.
He hath also stablished them for ever and ever: he hath made a decree which shall not pass.
Praise the Lord from the earth, ye dragons, and all deeps:
Fire, and hail; snow, and vapours; stormy wind fulfilling his word:
Mountains, and all hills; fruitful trees, and all cedars:
Beasts, and all cattle; creeping things, and flying fowl:
Kings of the earth, and all people; princes, and all judges of the earth;
Both young men, and maidens; old men, and children:
Let them praise the name of the Lord: for his name alone is excellent: his glory is above the earth and heaven.
He also exalteth the horn of his people, the parise of all his saints; even of the children of Isreal, a people near unto him. Praise ye the Lord.

Waiting in Line

Waiting in Line
At the store with my mom,
I was waiting in line
For a very long time.
The line was so long it curved,
and some of the adults from behind
stomped their feet and whined!
I shrugged my shoulders at them
And raised my eyes!
There was a lady in line,
A grandma who looked a lot like mine.
She caught my eye and smiled,
Shrugged her shoulders,
and raised her eyes.
We looked at each other and laughed inside
every time someone whined.
After that, the time went really fast.
